2021 Spring Commencement – Virtual
Fresno Pacific University 2021 spring graduates, on behalf of our faculty, staff and associates – Congratulations! While the celebrations may look different this year, we at FPU want you to look at this remarkable achievement as a celebration of your hard work, dedication and success.
Considering state and federal recommendations regarding large gatherings due to COVID-19, our spring 2021 commencement ceremony, honoring all our graduates, will take place virtually. Even as hospitalization rates fluctuate, a vaccine begins to be more widely distributed, and California works to stabilize infection rates, it is unlikely large scale in-person events like our commencement will be allowed for the foreseeable future. The virtual ceremony, which will premiere live on our website on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. will individually honor each of you as your name is read and we enjoy many of the ceremony experiences Fresno Pacific is accustomed to.
Please note for your name to be included in the printed program and announced in the virtual ceremony, you must submit your degree application no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2021. We are unable to offer any exceptions for applications submitted after March 31. If you have not already completed your degree application, please do so soon. The diploma cover, alumni license plate frame, copies of the printed program and other items will be mailed to each graduate prior to the virtual celebration. Though our ceremony will be virtual, we will still be providing you with copies of the printed program for you and your family to keep and enjoy. We are committed to ensuring graduates receive these items prior to commencement so they can include them in celebrations with family and friends and as a reminder of the significant achievement amidst these difficult and most unusual of circumstances. Additional information will be emailed to graduates as the celebration approaches.
If you wish to defer your commencement participation to Fall 2021 you may do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note: You may only defer your graduate application by one semester. Upon expiration, graduates would need to reapply. Participation in the commencement ceremony does not guarantee degree completion nor degree conferral.
Despite these trying times, we wholeheartedly celebrate your accomplishments and rejoice in your future. We rejoice in your victories and praise all those who walked alongside of you to encourage, sacrifice, love and affirm you. We look forward to celebrating in May!
If you have received Latin honors, your honors cords will be mailed to you in tandem with the other commencement items.
Show your FPU pride with a unique zipper-pull medallion to wear on your grad gown. Make a gift of $20.21 or more to the university in honor of your grad year, and we’ll thank you with this medallion to wear at commencement. Your small gift will have a big impact on students next year through the Scholarship Fund.

The FPU Bookshop on the main campus is well stocked and welcomes students to purchase regalia from their bulk supply. Currently, the bookshop hours are from Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and the number is 559-453-2078.

The FPU Bookshop will email graduates the virtual ring event links and QR code to set up a virtual appointment.
Regalia may be returned within 30 days of purchase with receipt, all returns must be unopened and in their original packaging. When returning items, please include the following information:
- Include name, address, phone number, school name and reason (COVID-19)
- Write the information on the original package slip if possible
- Return to address: Jostens Returns, 501 Lynn Avenue, Laurens, SC 29360
- Call or email Jostens Consumer Contact Center with your tracking number at 800-854-7464 or email tracking number to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Credit will be issued after receipt of return. No refund on shipping costs.
Regalia is available for purchase on Jostens' website and shipped to your home. (Shipping charges apply) or at the bookshop on FPU’s main campus. Shipping may take about six weeks to receive and charges will apply. Please visit the FPU Bookshop in person or call to purchase your regalia. The FPU Bookshop has plenty of regalia in inventory.
Due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of shipping, we cannot guarantee the delivery of regalia if the order is placed after March 12 on the Jostens’ website. If you have any concerns about shipping and delivery, please call or email the FPU Bookshop for any additional questions. Again, commencement regalia can be purchased in person at the FPU Bookshop or over the phone.
